Computer games 'may ease elderly depression'

Brain-boosting computer games may be as effective as drugs in treating severe depression in some elderly people and perhaps even better, according to trial results published earlier this month.

National My Social Security Week ends tomorrow

From August 17 through 23, 2014, Social Security has hosted numerous events to highlight the many benefits of a "My Social Security" account, a personalized online account people can establish at www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount beginning in their working years and continuing throughout the time they receive Social Security benefits. The event is in honor of the 79th Anniversary of the Social Security Act.

Aren't advance directive just for the elderly?

Many people mistakenly think advance directives should be considered only near the end of life. However, these documents are best completed while a person is healthy. Making these choices when a person is well can reduce the burden on loved ones later on. Communicating choices earlier on can ensure one’s dignity and quality of life in those final days.
