Dana Hentschel, Outreach Coordinator
As Outreach Coordinator, Dana Hentschel is the face of Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law in the community. In addition to coordinating and participating in outreach activities, Dana is editor-in-chief of The Continuum, the firm’s quarterly newsletter. She also coordinates the annual Time Out Workshop and other continuing education programs for professionals who serve the elderly and disabled.
A Hendersonville native, Dana earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. After graduation, she joined Community Health Charities where she spent 11 years raising funds for more than 50 nationally known health charities. Rising through the ranks, she eventually served as the organization’s executive director. Dana also spent six years as community relations director at Elmcroft Senior Living before joining Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law in 2017.
Raised by her great-grandparents, Dana has always been drawn to work supporting older people. “I have an affinity for seniors and wanted to find a way to work with companies providing services for them,” says Dana, whose first exposure to Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law happened while working at Elmcroft. “Several of the residents were clients of Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law and they all said good things about the firm. So, whenever new residents needed to apply for VA benefits or Medicaid, I would refer them to the firm.”
What does Dana enjoy most about her work? “I like that Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law is a for-profit company with a non-profit heart,” she says. “I also love the education part of my job. It’s rewarding to be in a position where I can let people know about the services and resources available to them. There’s so much misinformation out there.”
Dana and her husband, Jeff, live in Hendersonville with a Maltipoo named Izzy and an Australian Labradoodle named Piper. When she’s not attending health fairs, coordinating events, or scheduling presentations for the firm, she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants in Nashville, and travelling.
