Kerry Konrad, Legal Assistant
As one of the firm’s Legal Assistants, Kerry Konrad assists with estate planning, manages tasks associated with trust funds, and provides general administrative support to other members of the firm. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, and court reporter to the firm. Before joining Takacs McGinnis, Kerry worked for high profile law firms in Nashville, Cheyenne, Memphis, Pensacola, and Honolulu.
Growing up in a military family (her father is a retired 30-year submarine sailor) and being married to a Navy man has given Kerry a passion for working with veterans. “As a military child and spouse, I can identify with the veterans and their families who come in for help,” says Kerry. “Half of the clients who walk through the door are retired military. There’s a lot of crossover between my life and my work.”
Kerry’s experience helping to care for family members also played a role in her desire to transition to the elder law field. “I find my work with Takacs McGinnis so fulfilling because I’ve faced many of the same issues that our clients face,” Kerry admits. “My mother, brother, sister-in-law, and father-in-law faced long-term care journeys of their own. My sister-in-law had a brain aneurysm that left her in a vegetative state and the family had to make very difficult decisions about her care.”
Kerry lives in Hendersonville with her husband, Robert Konrad, a Navy Chief who serves as a career counselor for the Nashville office. In her spare time, she ferries her children to and from athletic events.
