Let Momma do the dishes!!

An article this week in Health.com discusses a study published in the journal Neurology.  The findings show that men and women who had a greater level of any type of physical activity had an associated slower rate of aging related memory and cognitive decline.  The  study followed the participants over a period of 4 years, finding that those with the least activity were 2.3 times as likely to receive a diagnosis of dementia that those with the most activity.

This indicates that any type of physical activity, even doing the dishes or helping fold laundry are beneficial.  Of course,  the more exertion expended, the better, but any activity is better than nothing.  If you are caring for a loved with dementia or have a family history of Alzheimer’s related diseases, keep active.
