It's Older Americans Month & National Elder Law Month
Launched in 1963 by the Administration on Aging, a department of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Older Americans Month strives to appreciate and celebrate the vitality and aspirations of older adults and their contributions and achievements. This year’s Older Americans Month theme—“Get into the Act”—celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act and the successes of the act in helping older adults enjoy healthy, independent and productive lives.
“Though our firm serves older adults year-round, we are paying special attention to the important and valuable contributions that our clients and their families make in their communities every day,” said Timothy L. Takacs, Certified Elder Law Attorney and founder of Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs, a Hendersonville-based elder law firm “We applaud our clients and their families for their past, present and future achievements.”
The firm’s activities are also part of a nationwide observance of National Elder Law Month which is sponsored by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NAELA was formed in 1987 in response to the growing legal needs of older adults, people with special needs, and their families.
As part of the celebration, Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs is inviting the community to access free elder care articles and resources in the firm’s extensive online Family Education Library on www.TN-Elderlaw.com. The firm also maintains a list of educational programs for professional and family caregivers at www.ElderLawEducation.com.
