TEAM TIDBITS: Bonnie Woodard Retires After 17 Years of Service
Medicare Specialist Bonnie Woodard handled her final Medicare and VA applications on May 25, 2017 and experienced a Takacs McGinnis style send-off that included a luscious strawberry cake from Chef's Market, lots of laughs, thoughtful gifts, and a few tears. Thank you for your dedication over the years, Bonnie. We love you!
Medicare Specialist Bonnie Woodard retired on May 25, 2017 after 17 years of service.
Joining the firm on August 30, 1999, Bonnie was one of the very first employees Tim Takacs hired when he began assembling the interdisciplinary team now known as Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law. Bonnie came to the firm with expert-level knowledge of Medicare honed over a 20-year career with Medicare. Clients loved her encyclopedic knowledge, her gentle spirit, and her ability to bring clarity to even the most complicated Medicare and VA benefits situations.
Bonnie was also the firm’s marketing engine. Using skills acquired while working in public relations roles for Medicare, Bonnie served as editor in chief of The Continuum, coordinated community outreach activities, and was a frequent speaker at civic clubs and community events. She was the brainchild behind a number of educational programs, most notably the Time Out Workshop, a one-day continuing education event that has inspired many imitators and is considered by many to be one of Middle Tennessee’s best continuing education events for long-term care professionals.
Bonnie was a trailblazer in many ways. She was one of the first Medicare professionals in the nation to apply her knowledge in an elder law environment, and she was a pioneer in the development of the educational outreach programs that have become the firm’s trademark.
Public Benefits Specialist Berkley Crain will handle Medicare and VA benefits issues. Dana Hentschel, the firm’s new outreach coordinator, will oversee marketing activities.~
