Debra joined Johnson McGinnis Elder Care Law as an Elder Care Coordinator in 2006, bringing ten years of experience as a discharge planner with a major Nashville hospital to serve Johnson McGinnis clients. This experience gives her a special understanding of the needs and challenges facing the elderly and their families during every phase of the care continuum.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Debra is active in her profession. She has been a member of the Mid-Cumberland Council of Healthcare Social Workers since 1997 and served on that organization's Board of Directors for four years. She is a member of the Senior Services Network and a former member of its Board of Directors. Since 2016, she has served on the board of Directors of the Tennessee Society of Health Care Social Workers, including two years as president. She is also a member of the planning board of the local branch of the National Association of Social Workers – Tennessee. As a member of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, she has played a major role in the development of educational programs for care coordinators. She is also one of the Principals of Life Care Consulting LLC, a consulting firm that helps attorneys launch successful Life Care Planning law firms.
