As the firm’s Intake Specialist, Tyler McCullar, takes calls from prospective clients and helps them decide whether there is a mutual fit between their needs and the services Johnson McGinnis provides. Tyler also schedules appointments, follows up with prospects, and oversees the firm’s intake data collection system.

Tyler came to Johnson McGinnis Elder Care Law with four years of healthcare and insurance experience. During college, he worked at the emergency department registration desk at Livingston Regional Hospital. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Tennessee Technological University, Tyler worked at the ER registration desk at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He spent his days off volunteering with the State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), a service that provides free and unbiased Medicare counseling to older adults.

Eventually, Tyler was tapped to fill the role of SHIP program coordinator, a position he held for more than four years. “It was rewarding to be in a position to help older adults in need of an advocate to help with confusing health insurance decisions,” Tyler said. “I love that I’m able to do the same kind of thing here at Johnson McGinnis. The team atmosphere and the work culture are great!”

When he’s not working with Johnson McGinnis clients, Tyler enjoys fishing, and attending University of Tennessee sporting events.
