Takacs McGinnis is now offering elder care mediation

Are you having trouble reaching agreement with family members about what is best for an elderly loved one? Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law is now offering elder care mediation to facilitate open communication among family members to yield a better outcome for the client. Available to clients who have a Life Care Plan from Takacs McGinnis, elder care mediation can help families resolve a wide variety of disputes related to aging parents or other elderly relatives, including disagreements over caregiving needs, medical care, living arrangements, driving issues, legal issues, and financial decisions. Acting as a neutral third party to help ease family tensions, an elder care mediator listens to everyone’s concerns, digs deeper into disagreements and misunderstandings, and helps your family make decisions that are acceptable to everyone. Mediation can be extremely beneficial, but don’t confuse this with family or group therapy. Mediation is only about decision-making, not feelings and emotions. The mediation process is confidential and can take anywhere from a few hours to several meetings depending on the complexity of your issues. If you have family members out of town, video conferencing can be used so everyone can be involved in the discussion. If you have questions or would like to schedule a time to discuss your situation, please call our office at 615.824.2751.
