A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt University School of Law, Takacs is a Certified Elder Law Attorney who has been in private practice in the Nashville area since 1980.
He is the architect of the Life Care Planning approach to elder law, which features a team of attorneys, nurses, social workers, insurance expert, public benefits specialists and others who work together to help families deal with challenges created by long life and disability.
Takacs is the author of Elder Law Practice in Tennessee and A Guide to Elder Law Practice, both published by LEXIS Law Publishing. His insights into the challenges faced by the elderly and their families have appeared in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and The Tennessean. He makes regular appearances on Nashville’s WTVF-TV as a regular guest on MorningLine and OpenLine, and as co-host of Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law Hour.
