Takacs Recognized by 2019 Mid-South Super Lawyers Magazine

For the thirteenth year in a row, Hendersonville attorney Timothy L. Takacs has been recognized as one of the leading attorneys in the region by Mid-South Super Lawyers Magazine. Only the top five percent of attorneys in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee receive this honor.


Super Lawyers is a listing of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.


Takacs is recognized nationwide as a leader in the important and demanding area of elder law. His innovations have transformed the way this specialty of law is practiced in the United States. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt University School of Law, Takacs is a Certified Elder Law Attorney who has been in private practice in the Nashville area since 1980.

He is the architect of the Life Care Planning approach to elder law, which features a team of attorneys, nurses, social workers, insurance expert, public benefits specialists and others who work together to help families deal with challenges created by long life and disability.


Takacs is the author of Elder Law Practice in Tennessee and A Guide to Elder Law Practice, both published by LEXIS Law Publishing. His insights into the challenges faced by the elderly and their families have appeared in publications such as the Wall Street JournalChristian Science MonitorKiplinger’s Personal Finance and The Tennessean. He makes regular appearances on Nashville’s WTVF-TV as a regular guest on MorningLine and OpenLine, and as co-host of Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law Hour.
