Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs has a new name. Starting January 1, 2017, the firm will be known as Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law. The firm’s website can still be found at www.tn-elderlaw.com.
“This rebranding effort comes at a defining moment in our firm’s history,” said Tim Takacs, the Hendersonville attorney who founded Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs in 1992. “Barbara Boone McGinnis assumed a partnership stake in the firm in early 2016 and our new moniker reflects that. The new name also better conveys what we do here, which is to help people respond with confidence to the challenges created by aging, chronic conditions, and disability.”
Over the past two decades, the firm has developed a reputation as Middle Tennessee’s most respected provider of elder care law services. Takacs is known nationally in legal circles for his role as the architect of Life Care Planning, a philosophical approach to elder law that is organized around the specific needs of elderly clients. Hundreds of attorneys from throughout the U.S. have traveled to Hendersonville to observe the firm’s interdisciplinary team of legal and non-legal professionals in action.
As Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law, the firm’s mission is unchanged. “We are still focused on maximizing quality of life for elders and for helping people avoid the financial, legal and personal catastrophes that can happen as a loved one ages,” said McGinnis, who worked as Registered Nurse, geriatric nurse practitioner, and long-term facility executive before earning a law degree and joining the firm in 2011. “We will continue to offer services and support that help adults plan ahead for the elder care years, increase dignity and independence for adults as they age, and ease burdens on family caregivers.”~
